Sugar prices ease on large arrival of stocks
Navi Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices today eased modestly by Rs 10 on increased stock inflows from co-operative mills coupled with thin demand from bulk consumers on the last day of trade of Vikram Samvat year 2063.
Prices of small grade and medium grades dropped by Rs 10 and Rs 15 (per quintal) respectively on improved offers from stockists, induced by larger arrival of stocks.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also eased by Rs 10 each due to poor demand from local dealers, traders said.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,331/1,405, Medium grade: Rs 1,385/1,500.
Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,321/1,380, Medium grade: Rs 1,367/1,465.
