SC directs CBI to file response on Pappu Yadav's bail plea
New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed the CBI to file its response within a week on an application filed by Rajiv Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, RJD MP from Bihar, facing trial in Ajit Sarkar murder case, seeking bail on medical grounds.
A bench comprising Justices S B Sinha and Harjit Singh Bedi issued the directions after hearing the counsel for the petitioner, who contended that jail authorities in Tihar cannot provide adequate treatment for his ailments, which include obesity.
Pappu Yadav, who is presently lodged in Tihar jail here, is also seeking regular bail on the grounds that all prosecution witnesses have already been examined by the CBI.
