One more accused in 2002 Godhra train carnage arrested

Godhra, Gujarat, Nov 12 (UNI) Police have arrested one more wanted accused in connection with the 2002 Godhra train carnage from the Mohammedi Mullah locality in Godhra town today.

Acting on a tip off that the wanted accused was expected to arrive in the city, the police team led by Town Police Inspector M S Patel kept a vigil on the area since yesterday.

The accused, Siddhiqi Ibrahim Hathila, was picked up from his house, the police said.

Hathila was absconding since February 27, 2002.

Fifty-nine people, most of them 'Kar Sevaks' returning from Ayodhya, were charred to death when unidentified persons had set the Sabarmati Express ablaze near the Godhra Railway Station on February 27, 2002.
