Nitish rules out CBI inquiry into APP murder case
Patna, Nov 12 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ruled out CBI inquiry into the killing of Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of Begusarai Ram Naresh Sharma who was gunned down a few days back.
Mr Kumar told reporters here that two senior police officers including Additional Director General (ADG) headquarter Abhayanand had been asked to inquire into the incident and clarified that no one should have any suspicion over the investigation as these officers were of high integrity.
''CBI cannot investigate every crime being committed here and there as this premier investigation has no resources of that magnitude,'' he said, while turning down the demand for CBI inquiry into the incident.
Taking potshot on reported demand from political parties for CBI investigation into the incident, he said those raising such demands should ensure the opening of CBI branch in every state with required manpower to handle all criminal cases.
Earlier, Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had demanded CBI inquiry into the murder of Mr Sharma whose killing had triggered widespread protests in Begusarai.
