MSP for paddy: BJP to stage agitation in TN

The
BJP
in
Tamil
Nadu
will
stage
agitation
across
the
State
tomorrow,
demanding
fixing
of
Rs
1,000
as
the
Minimum
Support
Price
(MSP)
for
per
quintal
of
paddy.
In a statement here, BJP state president L Ganesan said the party was choosing the agitational path as the Union and State Governments were ''not taking the matter seriously''.
Mr Ganesan would lead the agitators at Madurantakam in neighbouring Kancheepuram district, in the presence of party National Secretary and former Union Minister S Thirunavukkarasar.
While the agitation would be staged tomorrow in Madurantakam, Valliyur in Tirunelveli district, Lalgudi in Tiruchirapalli district, Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, Pallipalayam in Namakkal district, Palladam in Coimbatore district, Hosur in Krishnagiri district and Dharmapuri, it would be organised at Alanganallur in Madurai district on November 18, he said.
