New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) A light veil of fog enveloped the capital early in the morning as the mercury continued to hover around 14 degrees Celsius, indicating to Delhiites that winters lay ahead.

The minimum dipped to 14.5 degrees, three degrees above normal, as against yesterday's 14.6. Motorists had a bit of difficulty travelling in the morning as mist and haze greeted them, reducing visibility to 600 metres. Most of those who ventured out of their homes early in the morning were wearing half-sleeved sweaters and leather jackets.

But as the day wore on, the mercury touched the mark of 29.2 degrees Celsius, which was normal.

The weatherman expects mist and haze besides shallow fog tomorrow morning, saying more hazy mornings are in store for Delhiites in the days to come but they can take heart from the fact that there was no possibility of cloudy skies or scattered rainfalls, as on Diwali eve, in the next few days.
