Mayawati reviews development works

Lucknow, Nov 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today reviewed the progress of various development programmes and law and order in the state.

After the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials to acquaint the division and district level officers about her directives so that the devlepment works could be expedited and hurdles removed.

Taking cognizance of the discrepancies surfacing in the spot verification of the development works conducted at the division and district level, the BSP supremo ordered Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh to preside over the review meeting at Meerut today along with the team of the senior officials.

She further directed the Cabinet Secretary that the division and district level officials should be told about these directives and they themselves conduct the verification on the implementation of various development works.

Ms Mayawati said clear orders had been issued at the time of the formation of her government for pacing up development works and to strictly follow the directives issued regarding the law and order in the state, but laxity had been detected at various levels.

She said strict action was being initiated against errant officers.

The Chief Minister extensively reviewed the implementation of various programmes, schemes and working of departments including Dr Ambedkar Gramin Samagra Vikas Yojna, Manyawar Shri Kanshiram Ji Shahri Samagra Vikas Yojna, construction of roads funded by state Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, Rashtriya Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Yojna, Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojna, Rural Drinking water supply, Mid Day Meal, distribution of scholarship and pension, verification of BPL, allotment of agriculture and housing land and recovery of tax and non-tax revenue.
