Man kills his wife due to illicit affair

Chennai, Nov 12 (UNI) In a macabre incident, a man killed his wife, a mother of two, as she continued to have an illicit affair with a family member despite warnings at MKB Nagar in the city today.

The man Mahendran married Eswari nine years back and the couple had two children.

As they used to frequently quarrel, a family member Aiyappan used to broker truce between them. In the process, Eswari developed a liking for Aiyappan.

Despite several warnings by the family members, the affair continued. Enraged over this, Mahendran hacked his wife to death with a sickle.

He later surrendered before the police and confessed to committing the crime.
