LDF Govt stalling Kerala's development: UDF convener
Kochi, Nov 11 (UNI) The United Democratic Front (UDF) convener P P Thankachan today alleged that Kerala's development had been stalled due to ''wrong'' policies of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Thankachan said the State Planning Board had ''failed'' to chalk out development policies and should be ''dismissed'' as it had convened only one meeting after its formation in 2006.
''The state was not receiving funds from the Centre due to the lackadaisical attitude of the government towards the state's development,'' he alleged.
He also alleged that prices of the essential commodities had increased manifold and the government was ''doing nothing'' to curb it. Mr Thankachan said the decision to hike the electricity charges and milk price would adversely affect the comman man.
''The law and order situation, health sector and condition of roads are in a shambles due to the ''unprogressive'' policies of the government,'' he alleged.
