India well prepared to guard its borders: Antony

India
was
constantly
monitoring
the
developments
in
Pakistan,
Defence
Minister
A
K
Antony
today
said
the
country
was
well
prepared
to
meet
any
eventuality
from
across
the
border.
Talking
to
newspersons
here
after
presenting
Ankanam
literary
award
to
writer
Indu
Menon,
he
said
the
armed
forces
have
taken
every
step
to
protect
the
borders.
Noting that there was no firing between the Armies of both the countries during the last three years, Mr Antony said that except for sporadic incidents of intrusion by militants, the Indo-Pak border was by and large calm and peaceful.
Describing the recent developments in Pakistan as ''unfortunate'', he said ''we do not want to comment on the issue as it is the internal matter of that country.'' However, he hoped that normalcy would be restored in Pakistan soon.
