Heavy rain disrupts life in Andaman

Port Blair, Nov 12 (UNI) Heavy rains disrupted life in Andaman and Nicobar Islands as torrents pounded the islands for last 48 hours inundating some low-lying areas.

There was no report of any destruction or damage so far.

Port Blair town and Car Nicobar Islands were affected much leading disruptin of traffic and life to a greater extent. Poor visibility also created problems for flight operations for sometime at the Port Blair air terminus.

Weathermen said the islands received some 2,333.5 mm rainfall since January. The met department has predicted cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places accompanied with gusty wind for next 24 hours for these islands.
