GSM operators to face real competition: RCom

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) Welcoming Department of Telecommunication's (DoT) move to introduce mobile number portability, country's largest CDMA operator Reliance Communications (RCom) today said GSM operators will now face real competition in four metros for the first time.

''This a forward looking initiative and for the first time in the four metros GSM operators will face real competition,'' company's Chairman Anil Ambani said in a statement.

The step is pro-competition, pro-consumer and above all pro-choice, Mr Ambani added.

The government today introduced the much awaited number portability in four metros initially, that will enable users to switch operators while retaining their mobile numbers.
