Four hurt in encounter with ULFA
Mangaldai, Nov 12 (UNI) Three army personnel and a civilian were injured in an encounter between Army and the outlawed ULFA in Assam's Darrang district today. Police sources said the encounter took place at Ramdalipara near Kholiguri under Sipajhar police station.
Army raided the houses of one Sarat Deka on a tip off that a group of ULFA militants were taking shelter in his house for the past couple of days.
As the security personnel approached the house, the militants fired at them. In the ensuing cross fire, Sarat Deka's son Dipak (25) was injured. Three Army personnel were also injured.
However, the militants managed to flee. The army has intensified operations to nab the escaped militants.
