Curfew clamped on MP town after communal tension
Indore, Nov 12 (UNI) Curfew was imposed in Sanver town of western Madhya Pradesh following communal tension and escalating mob violence.
One person was shot at and admitted in the hospital with head injuries, police said.
''The youth was brought here for treatment,'' Inspector-General of Police Rajendra Kumar said.
Police exercised mild force and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse agitated people belonging to two communities.
Tension spiralled following an altercation over a trivial issue after a cycle collided with a person. Earlier in the day, stone-pelting was also reported.
Bypoll to the Sanver assembly seat, about 35 km from here, will be held on December 12.
Additional police force had been deployed in the area, Mr Kumar added.
