Crackers burst in joy at Yaddyurappa's birth place Bookanakere

Mandya, Nov 12 (UNI) Villagers burst crackers and distributed sweets at Bookanakere, the birth place of Mr B S Yeddyurappa as soon as he was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka today.

It was continuation of Deepavali festival for the villagers. The Villagers who were glued to TV watching swearing in ceremony held in front of Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat in Bangalore, burst crackers as soon as Governor Rameshwar Thakur administered oath to Mr Yeddyurappa.

Festival mood prevailed in this tiny village as a boy, who played on the streets in the village, became Chief Minister of the State.

Entire village was decorated by BJP workers with Saffron flags.

Mr Yeddyurappa's ancestors house, where he spent his childhood days playing with friends was remembered by the Villagers. It was literally party time in this village with party activists, relatives and friends distributing sweets.

The villagers are eagrly waiting for thier son to visit the village.
