CM turned down case withdrawal pleas: APUWJ

Hyderabad, Nov 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) today alleged that Chief minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy had ''turned down'' its request to withdraw charges against two journalists for 'exposing irregularities in INDIRAMMA housing scheme in Kurnool district'.

In a release here, Union General Secretary Y Narendar Reddy said its representatives met with the Chief Minister and urged him to withdraw cases ''foisted'' against Sriramulu and Urukundappa.

Dr Reddy had instructed the district officials not to oppose bail applications filed by the scribes, the release added.
