Udupi, Nov 12 (UNI) Union Minister for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes today said Centre would focus on providing primary and secondary education to all children in the country.

Speaking after inaugurating a nine-day NSS Pre-Republic Day Selection Camp at Kallianpur near here he said the government was facilitating education for the youth, according to their chosen courses.

Mr Fernandes said the country needed more qualified and trained technical manpower to meet the global demand.

He said there was an acute shortage of youth in the world, but India had the advantage of youth, who could be trained to fulfil the requirements.

''The situation of treating every youth in India as brand India had now changed and people from foreign countries were now looking at India to pursue their higher studies here due to International standards maintained by our professional institutions like IITs, IIMs, business management schools and Public Sector Undertakings, which were now being considered as modern temples of India,'' he added.
