BPSMM criticises Minister for not clearing files on demand

Visakhapatnam Nov 12 (UNI) Bharatiya Port and Shipyard Mazdoor Mahasang (BPSMM) General Secretary, M Jagadiswara Rao, today accused the Union Shipping and Transport Minister T R Baalu for keeping pending all files related to their demands.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the BPSMM, an affiliated organ of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sang(BMS) had already issued a strike notice in August this year to be observed in the 12 major ports and six shipyards in the country.

Mr Rao said BMS would hold a 'Mahadharna' in front of the Parliament during its winter session on November 27.

Their demands included Rs 1200/- as interim relief to the Port and Shipyard workers, Constitution of Pay Commission at national level for shipyard employees, regularisation of contractual workers, daily wagers and trainees in ports and shipyards, abolition of SEZs, removal0 of Corporate houses in retail market sector, withdrawal of ceiling for bonus, among others.
