Bangladeshi held over suspected twin blast links

Hyderabad, Nov 12 (UNI) Police today arrested a Bangladeshi national, overstaying in the country, suspecting his involvement in the May 18 Mecca Masjid blasts and the twin blast on August 25, here.

Charminar Division Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Reddanna told reporters that a special team, arrested Sadique- Ur-Rahman from his house in Bandlaguda area this morning.

Mr Sadique, who came to the city in 2005, was working in a madrasa.

The ACP said Mr Sadique had received money from his friends in the USA and the UK since last two years.

He had also attended 'Fida-e-Millat programme' in New Delhi recently, as a special invitee, in which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi were present.

Investigations were on to trace out his links with his source of money in the foreign countries, the ACP said.

He had also obtained ration card and opened bank accounts here.
