PM closely monitoring situation in Nandigram
Moscow, Nov 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is closely monitoring the situation in violence-torn Nandigram and has also spoken to West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee in this regard.
Dr Singh spoke to the West Bengal Chief Minister just before leaving from New Delhi for his two-day visit to Russia.
''The Prime Minister is in touch with Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil on the situation in Nandigram. The Central government will be sending CRPF battalions there,'' Prime Minister's Media Adviser Sanjaya Baru said in a brief statement.
