INLD criticises attack on Ambedkar statue

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has condemned the desecration of a statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Ellenabad town, criticising the inaction of the Haryana Government in the matter.

INLD secretary general and party MP Ajay Singh Chautala demanded action against the culprits, alleging that the state government had an indifferent approach towards such cases.

Mr Chautala said such incidents were disturbing peace in the state and dividing society on caste lines.

He alleged that the state government had totally failed to perform its duties and the law and order situation had deteriorated in the state.

A statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar was damaged in Ellenabad town on Friday.
