FM to inaugurate Economic Editors Conference tomorrow

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Economic editors from all over the country will meet here for three days from tomorrow to deliberate on key issues and get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario.

The Conference will be inaugurated by Finance Minister P Chidambaram and attended by representatives from the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Civil Aviation and Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers and Labour besides Finance.

About 300 editors and financial writers are likely to attend the Conference.

There will be separate sessions with the Ministers and senior officers of the key economic and infrastructure ministries participating in the Conference.

''The Conference will enable economic editors and journalists, invited from all over the country, to interact with them and get a detailed background of the government's policies and programmes,'' an official release said.

The mediapersons will get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario in the country and the latest initiatives and thrust areas of the Government.

The Conference will also provide an opportunity to the Government to get feedback from the economic editors, the release added.
