Five cops suspended for laxity in Chhattisgarh
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Nov 11 (UNI) Five police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO), were suspended today for negligence and inaction over at least three incidents of dacoity on Diwali night at Sarguja district's Ramanujganj town bordering Jharkhand.
Balrampur Superintendent S R P Kalluri suspended Ramanujganj SHO Larang Ram, constables Veena Rani Tirky, Pramila Toppo, Ashok Tirky and Ajay Singh.
Residents of Ramanujganj, the constituency of state Home Minister Ram Vichar Netam, told the minister that they had asked the police for help immediately after bandits entered the home of trader Vimal Aggarwal but police did not act until the next morning. Mr Netam directed the SP to take action against the personnel.
