Chatterjee, Advani pay floral tributes to Maulana Azad

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani today paid floral tributes at a portrait of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in the Central Hall of Parliament on his 119th birth anniversary today.

Mr P D T Achary and Mr V K Agnihotri, Secretaries General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively, also paid tributes to the veteran freedom fighter.

A booklet containing the profile of Maulana Azad brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat both in Hindi and English was also presented to those attending the function.

Maulana Azad's portrait was unveiled in the Central Hall on December 16, 1959, by the then President Dr Rajendra Prasad.
