Agitating supporters of TN YC chief arrested
Chennai, Nov 11 (UNI) More than 300 supporters of Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President Mayura Jayakumar were arrested across the state when they staged road blockade agitations, condemning the attack on Mr Jayakumar at the party Headquarters here today.
Reports received at the police headquarters here said all the arrested were released later.
In the city, more than 100 supporters of Mr Jayakumar resorted to a road blockade on the Greams Road-Anna Salai junction, affecting traffic. They were demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the attack.
Similar agitations were held in Coimbatore, Dindigul and other districts. About 50 workers were arrested in Coimbatore and 25 in Dindigul and several other districts.
The workers also staged demonstration in about ten to 15 places in the state, condemning the attack.
