Sky remains overcast as winter sets in capital

New Delh, Nov 10(UNI) A day after Diwali, the minimum temperature today dipped further and an overcast sky hung over the capital most of the day, heralding the arrival of winter with gusto.

After the warmth of fireworks last night, a shivery morning with a veil of fog greeted the city residents today. The mercury recorded the minimum of 13.8 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, as against yesterday's 14.2, registering a slight drop of 0.4 degrees C.

The maximum fell to 29.6 degrees Celsius in comparison to yesterday's temperature of 30 degrees C, making the day rather cool, the weatherman said.

Sunday's forecast: Delhiites would continue to have the taste of mist and a nip in the air again tomorrow but mainly a clear sky would be there during the day. The minimum temperature will continue to be on the slide, allowing the weather gods to set a perfect stage for a chilly Bhaiya Dooj .
