Over 50 children suffer eye injuries due to crackers

Bangalore, Nov 10 (UNI) As many as 50 children had reportedly suffered eye injuries due to bursting of crackers during the celebration of 'Diwali' in the last 24-hours here.

The sources said over 50 children of different localities in the city had suffered eye injuries, some of them serious in nature and were treated in various eye hospitals, including the state-run Minto Hospital and other private Institutions.

Among the injured, two children had reportedly suffered injuries in their retina and underwent surgery.

In Narayan Nethrayala, over 20 injured children were provided treatment.

In the Minto Hospital, over 17 incidents were reported and seven children were treated as in-patients the sources added.
