One drowns as boat capsizes in Tapti river

Betul, MP, Nov 10: A youth drowned while five others swam to safety as their boat capsized in Tapti river near Khurdaghat in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh last night, police said.

The victim was identified as Ashfaq Qureshi(20), police said.

Five passengers and the boatman took the boat for Motagaon, on the other side of the river last night but it overturned midway.

Search was being carried out to retrieve two motorcyles, which were also being taken in the boat, police added.
