Kathmandu, Nov 10 (UNI) A senior minister of Nepal has alleged that the Maoists have forged a nexus with the royalists.
''There is a nexus between the Maoists, who are creating hassles in the face of the elections, and the King, who is trying to protect his crown'', Kantipur quoted Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prithvi Subba Gurung, as saying.
''Recent Maoist activities have only fortified that nexus and It will be substantiated when the right time arrives,'' he said.
Maoists left the government saying they would not participate in the election unless the monarchy was abolished and a proportionate election system was introduced in the country.
Maoists, however, were being part of an effort to save monarchy, Mr Gurung said, adding that the proposals tabled by them in the special session of the interim parliament was the continuation of that ploy.
As motions have been tabled in an unconstitutional manner, the government was under no compulsion to implement them, he said.
