Miscreants decamp with stengun of head constable

Hoshiarpur, Nov 10 (UNI) Some miscreants decamped with a loaded stengun of a head constable in sleep at kiosk market in Talwara town in this district last night.

Police sources said, Head Constable Chhaju Ram alongwith a Home Guard Jawan Mukhtiar Singh was on patrol duty when the incident took place.

While taking rest on the bench before a shop Chhaju Ram fell asleep whereas Mukhtiar Singh also went to sleep in a nearby place.

After about an hour, when both woke up from sleep, Chhaju Ram found his stengun alongwith magazine having 5 live cartridges missing.

Superintendent of Police (Detective) Sushil Kumar said that Head Constable Chhaju Ram was being suspended and departmental action would be initiated against him after receiving the report from the Station House Officer, Talwara.
