Madras University doctorate for 10 eminent personalities

Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) Madras University will confer doctorates on ten eminent personalities from various fields on Monday.

Talking to newspersons here, University Vice-Chancellor S Ramachandran said the proposal was approved during the university's syndicate meeting today.

The doctorate would be awarded by Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala at a function, to personalities, including Dr P Sivandhi Adhithan owner of a leading Tamil daily, Siva Nadar from HCL, former High Court Judge A K Rajan, noted Neuro Specialist professor C U Vel Murugan, Umayal Ramanathan, daughter of Allagappa Chettiar, former Vice Chancellor Madras University M Santhappa, film director K Balachandar, Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigal and Professor Subramaniam.

Interestingly, for Dr P Sivandhi Adhithan, this award would be the fourth of its kind.
