JSW Steel Bags CII-EXIM Bank Award

Bellery (Karnataka), Nov 10: JSW Steel Ltd, Vijayanagar Works has bagged the 'Commendation Certificate" for Significant Achievement for the third time in a row on 1st Nov 2007, during the 15th Quality Summit organized by CII-Institute of Quality at Bangalore. This is one of the most coveted awards for Business Excellence in India.

Instituted jointly by CII&Export Import Bank of India in 1994, the award highlights the “Achievement of Business Excellence as a noteworthy element of organizational competitiveness." The mission of the CII-EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence is to “promote, nurture, recognize and celebrate organizational excellence in all its forms."

JSW Steel Ltd, Vijayangar Works is on a massive Expansion Surge&will become a 7 Million tpa plant by 2008&a 10 Million tpa plant in 2010 and will become the the largest steel plant at a single location. JSW Steel Limited declared highest ever Net Profit of Rs. 511.23 Crores, showing a growth of 48% in Q2, FY-08 compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, mainly driven by Volume growth, despite increasing costs and lower sales realizations caused by rupee appreciation.

JSW Steel Ltd, a part of the O P Jindal Group of Companies, has bagged numerous awards in its continuous quest as a top-line steel producer. Some of the notable awards bagged by JSW Steel in 2006-07, in addition to CII-Exim Award, are India Manufacturing Excellence Award – 2006: Corporate Gold Award in Metals Category by Frost&Sullivan, IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award 2006: Commendation certificate, TERI Corporate Social Responsibility Award, 2007, Certificate of Appreciation.
