Injured CPI(M) activist dies

Kozhikode, Nov 10 (UNI) The CPI(M) worker, who was injured in an alleged attack by the BJP activists on Tuesday, died here last night, hospital sources today said.

Parayi Pavithran (45), who sustained serious injuries in an attack allegedly by BJP activists, died at a private hospital.

Earlier, a CPI(M) worker Sudheer Babu was killed in the attack at Kavumbagam in the district on November 6.

Altogether ten activists of the CPI(M) and BJP were injured in various attacks in Thalassery last week, forcing the authorities to impose tight security measures.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) today called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Thalassery, Pinarayi and New Mahe to protest against the attack on its cadres.
