Gangotri,Yamunotri close for winter season

Dehradun, Nov 10 (UNI) Yamunotri and Gangotri Dhams situated in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand were today closed for the winter season.

According to Gangotri Mandir Samiti Secretary Rawal Harish Semwal, both the Dhams were closed at 1230 hrs amidst chanting of mantras and vedic rituals. 'Doli'(Pelinquin) of Godess Ganga was sent to her winter abode Mukhwa vilage where she would be kept for entire winter season till the Dham will reopen for Summer.'' Meanwhile, Doli of Goddess Yamuna has been sent to Kharsali village. The closing ceremony of both the Dhams were witnessed by devotees in large numbers in the presence of Adminsitrative representatives amid tight security arrangement.
