Congress downplays Governor's remarks on Nandigram

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) The Congress today distanced itself from the controversy surrouding the remarks of West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi on the latest developments in the state.

''We don't want to comment on the remarks of the Constitutional Authority,'' AICC General Secretary in charge of Media Veerappa Moily told mediapersons here.

While deprecating violence of any kind, Mr Moily called for early restoration of peace in the region.
