Clash over crackers injures 12 in UP
Siddharthnagar, Nov 10: Twelve people sustained severe burns after acid was thrown on them, following a clash between two groups while bursting fire crackers here last night, police said.
The incident occurred when some youths were bursting crackers in Mehandaval town, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akhilesh Kumar Nigam said.
He said a rocket fell incidently at Lakshi Verma's house, following which, the groups had a clash and the Verma family threw acid upon the youth of the other group.
Twelve people were critically injured in the incident and were admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, wife and children of Laxmi Verma have been arrested and sent to jail.
