BJP Chief to visit AP districts on Nov 20: Dattatreya

Eluru, Nov 10 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh, would undertake a of tour West and East Godavari districts on November 20 to participate in 'Rythu Poru Bata'(Farmers agitation path), pressing the demand for announcing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1,000 per quintal for paddy, Andhra Pradesh BJP Chief Bandaru Dattatreya said here today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the BJP would organise 'Rythu Poru Bata', in protest against the attitude of State and Central Governments towards paddy farmers in the State.

Mr Dattatreya alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has neglected the interests of paddy farmers.

He said U V Krishnamraju, former Union Minister and other national leaders would accompany Mr Rajnath Singh on the tour and participate in public meetings on the occasion.

He criticised the arrest of two journalists in Kurnool district for exposing the alleged misappropriations in 'Indiramma' scheme and changed that it was an ''undemocratic act'' by the State Government.

The Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy should withdraw the cases against the journalists unconditionally and order an inquiry in this regard, he added.
