Bangladeshi national killed in Meghalaya

Shillong, Nov 10 (UNI) A Bangladeshi national was killed after he was assaulted by villagers of Cherragoan in Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills, bordering the Indo-Bangla border, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when the deceased, along with four of his accomplices, tried to illegally cross over to India from Bangladesh.

Police said the other four Bangladeshi nationals managed to flee to Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, police registered a case in this connection.
