36 hospitalised after food poisoning

Chhatarpur(MP), Nov 10: A total of 36 people, including 20 children, were hospitalised this morning as they showed symptoms of food poisoning after consuming foostuff prepared apparently with adulterated oil for the Diwali festival in Nowgaon area of this district, police said.

Condition of the affected was stable, Block Medical Officer J P Tiwari said.

Residents of Bajrang Colony in Nowgaon had prepared special foodstuff with edible oil purchased from a local shop. After consuming the foodstuff last night, they started showing symptoms of food poisoning, police said.

On the apprehension of adulterating edible oil, Food officials raided two oil mills and sealed it after collecting oil samples, official sources said.
