1 drowned as boat capsizes in Tapti river

Betul(MP), Nov 10(UNI) A youth was drowned while five others swam to safety as a boat capsized in Tapti river near Khurdaghat in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh last night, police said.

The victim was identified as Ashfaq Qureshi(20), police said.

Five passengers and the boatman boarded the boat for Motagaon on the other side of the river last night and the boat overturned due to imbalance.

Search was being carried out to retrieve two motorcyles, which was also being transported in the boat, police added.
