Pak determined to guard minority rights: Aziz

Islamabad, Nov 9: Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said the government is determined to safeguard the rights and interests of the minority as a 'sacred trust'.

Greeting Hindus on the occasion of Diwali, Mr Aziz said the majority and minority communities should move together for the progress and development of the country.

Diwali, the festival of light, cultivates the spirit of selfless action, love and care,he said, adding, ''above all it demands traits of harmonious co-existence.'' ''Diwali is a happy occasion and a good opportunity to commit ourselves to the greater glory of the country,'' the Associated Press of Pakistan qouted Mr Aziz as saying.
