UP Guv, CM greet people on Diwali

Lucknow, Nov 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar and Chief Minister Mayawati today extended glittering wishes to people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In their messages, both the Governor and the CM observed ''Dewali underscores high values and the ethos of India's great civilisation.

The feelings of warmth, love and joy which everyone feels while celebrating this festival adds to our composite heritage, promoting amity and brotherhood.'' This festival symbolises the victory of truth over evil. The people should celebrate the festival of lights with gaiety, joy and enthusiasm, they said.

The Governor and the CM further appealed the people to celebrate Dewali free from noise and pollution.
