Tehsildar files plea to record statement in virk case

Rupnagar, Nov 8 (UNI) Tehsildar Baljinder Singh has filed an application in the court of Rupnagar Sessions Judge Rekha Mittal seeking recording of his statement in the disproportionate assets case against former Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) S S Virk.

The tehsildar's application has been filed under Section 164 of Cr PC in which he has requested the court to record his statement regarding the case.

The Court has fixed November 13 for the consideration of the application.

Baljinder Singh, who remained tehsildar of Kharar for several years, is currently posted in Punjab Civil Secretariate.

Virk, who was arrested on September 10, is presently on bail in the case and is undergoing treatment at PGI Chandigarh.
