One killed, 7 hurt in accident

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) One labourer was killed and seven others injured when a speedy dumper rammed into the huts of contract labourers near Shantinagar at Chembur here in the wee hours today.

Police said that the incident occured when a dumper rammed into their huts while they were asleep at around 0045 hours.

Among the injured, the condition of one was stated to be critical while the others are out of danger.

The deceased has been identified as Bhayasaheb Nabha Padmukhe(40).

The injured have been admitted to the Rajawadi Hospital.

Dumper driver Kashinath Vishnu Kale (36) has been arrested for rash and negligent driving, police added.
