MP CM urges Centre to complete work on pending projects

New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan today urged Union Minister for Heavy Industries Santosh Mohan Dev to complete the pending work on the Thermal Power Projects at Birsinghpur and Amarkantak.

The Chief Minister told Mr Dev that the work at Birsinghpur was to be completed by 2006 , but it had been delayed resulting in production of only 200 MW electricity instead of 500 MW, and the work on Amarakatak Plant too had been delayed.

The Union Minister promised to Mr Singh that the works would be completed by March 2008.

During the discussion the Chief Minister also invited Mr Dev to formally inaugurate the project when completed and he acepted the invitation, a press release from the Madhya Pradesh Information Centre said here.
