Doctor kidnapped mistakenly released
Lohardaga, Nov 8 (UNI) Armed miscreants today waylaid a Ranchi-bound bus coming from Daltonganj and kidnapped a doctor at Pachambamore and later released him on finding that he was not the target they were looking for.
Superintendent of Police Subodh Prasad said Dr Amar being after released by the miscreants from a nearby jungle, walked on foot and police found him on the road at about 1600 hrs and took him to the Kuru police station.
Neither did police confirm nor deny if it was the handiwork of the banned Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), but asserted that the doctor was not the target the miscreants sought to kidnap.
According to police, Dr Amar and his wife, Dr Urmila Srivastava, from Daltonganj district were travelling in the bus bound for the state capital.
As the bus reached Pachambamore, about 20 miscreants dressed as Army jawans stepped into it and dragged out Dr Amar and fled from the scene at about 0930 hrs.
His wife lodged a complaint with the Kuru police station and senior oficials from adjacent Latehar district and Lohardaga immediately swung into action, making raids to arrest the culprits.
