Madhya Pradesh: Corrupt ASI convicted

A
special
court
of
Indore
has
sentenced
one
year
rigorous
imprisonment
and
a
fine
of
Rs
3000
to
an
Assistant
Sub-Inspector
of
Khajrana
police
station
in
a
bribery
case.
Official sources said ASI Premnarayan Jat was caught redhanded while taking bribe of Rs 1,000 on November 5, 2003 from Mrs Maya for granting bail to her brother and filing of the challan. He had demanded bribe of Rs 2,000. The ASI was convicted on October 31.
