Constable shot dead by two robbers

Ahmedabad, Nov 8 (UNI) Two unidentified robbers shot dead a 35-year-old police constable with a country-made revolver near the HDFC bank in Maninagar area of the city today.

The incident took place around noon when Vinaysinh Yadav and his fellow constable, Anilkumar Vishnubhai Patel, were on patrolling duty around the bank as yesterday, a customer was looted of Rs 45,000 by two unidentified robbers.

On noticing that these robbers were suspiciously roaming around the bank premises on their motorbike, the duo Anil stopped them.

However, when they were being frisked by the constables, one of the robbers took out his revolver and fired two rounds at Vinay.

Vinay died on the spot as one of the bullets pierced his chest while another went into his skull.

Following the incident, police launched a massive manhunt to nab the robbers.

Meanwhile, Bapunagar police have detained two suspects.

Police have registered a case of murder against the two unidentified robbers.
