Chandigarh Mayor greets people on Diwali

Chandigarh, Nov 8 (UNI) Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Mayor, Ms Harjinder Kaur today extended her greetings to the people of the City Beautiful on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In a message on this occasion, the Mayor said that Diwali was one of the most colorful and captivating festivals of India that provided an occasion for rejoicing and merriment. She said that sparkling lights of Diwali symbolised ushering in an era of peace, prosperity and bounty.

She appealed to the people to celebrate this festival with traditional fervour and gaiety rising above the petty considerations of caste, creed and colour thereby cementing the bonds of communal harmony, national integration and universal brotherhood.
