6 killed in road accident

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 8 (UNI) Six people, including a two-year-old child and a ten-year-old boy, were killed, and 29 others injured when the tempo in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck on the Jalna-Sindkhed Road early today.

The injured have been admitted to the the Jalna civil hospital and the Government Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) here.

Police said 40 labourers from Mahalsi in Hingoli district were on their way to Aurangabad when the tempo in which they were travelling, was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction on the Jalna-Sindkhed road, about 80 km from here. Five of the victims were killed on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Himmat Khan Ismail Khan (25), Sherkhan Barkat Khan (17), Ultaf Bi (60), Najma Yousuf (10), Sohail Khan (2) and Govindchand Ranavat (57).

The labourers were coming to Aurangabad to work at a brick kiln, police said.
